Obituary for Sandra J La Fountain

Sandi La Fountain, 73, of Colona, passed away on Friday, May 3rd 2019.
A private Memorial will be held for the family, she chose to be cremated and her ashes will be tended to per her wishes. Quad Cities Cremation Center is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born to the late Nigel (Betz) and Thomas Bowker, Feb. 12, 1946, in Evansville, Indiana. Sandi attended United Township High School and Black Hawk College.
She married Charles La Fountain in 1972, and they lived together in Colona for forty-seven years. Sandi is survived by her husband, Charles, Her brother, Charles “C.T.” Bowker of Russell, KS and her three children: Judd Poppe (Linda), of Silvis; Tom Poppe, of Colona; and Nicole Kilchrist (Michael), of Lafayette, LA. She is survived by two step-sons: Timothy La Fountain, of Davenport, IA and Ray La Fountain, of St. Louis, MO. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Alejandra, Amanda, Vanessa, Alexandria, Cameron and Benjamin, five step-grandchildren: Rachel, Ray Jr., Izaak, Brendan, and Chloe, three great-grandchildren, Santiano, Ariana, and Liam, and two step great-grandsons, Kyler and Clyde . Sandi was predeceased by her parents: Nigel and Thomas, her sister, Paula and her eldest step-son, Richard.
Sandi was an affectionate and loving housewife and stay-at-home-mom to her children and step-children. She worked at The Plantation Restaurant, Montgomery Ward’s Department Store and for the U. S. Postal Service. She passed on her appreciation of music and reading to all her children as well as a wicked sense of humor and certain disregard for conformity. Sandi was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind beautiful memories.
