John Lee Franklin II, a loving soul whose laughter and antics brightened the lives of all who knew him, passed away on December 10, 2025, after an extended illness.
Affectionately known as “Johnny” or “Franklin” to friends and family, he was born January 2, 1975, in Davenport, Iowa, son of John Franklin and Michelle (Leslein) Plummer. He is survived by his sister Kristi Crosby, his stepfather Allen Plummer and an entourage of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Michelle Plummer, father John Franklin and sister Tammy Franklin.
Johnny took great pride in having a home of his own, with a fenced-in yard for his three beloved dogs—Bruno, Zeus and Atlas. He treasured time with his dogs and gathering with friends around the backyard fire pit. He loved spending time with his friends and cousins—socializing, gaming, fishing, celebrating birthdays and family get-togethers during the holidays. He loved being the best uncle to Kloey and Karmyne.
His best friends said he was stubborn every single day of his life, and everyone agreed there was never a dull moment and always plenty of laughter and good times with Johnny. Though we say goodbye, Johnny’s smile, laughter and spirited personality will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
