Martha E. Hogan

Martha E. Hogan of Silvis passed away Monday February 9th, 2026 at home. Per her wishes she will be cremated and private family service to be held at a later date.

She was born November 17,1955 in Pomona, California to Eva and Arne Oberg. She worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse from 1984-1990, caring for others until she began her long battle with chronic pain and illness.

She had volunteered for the Special Olympics many years ago as an official hugger. Standing on the sidelines waiting for each person to finish just to give them each a hug and tell them how good they did. She loved animals and her hobbies included crocheting, watching Harry Potter and punching trees in Minecraft. She also had a love for helping people, and she always found a way to do so.

She is survived by her children Robert Hogan III of Silvis, Christina Hickerson (Jay Webb) of Moline, Kimberly (Adrian) Burroughs of Silvis and Gary Morril l Jr. of Arizona. Grandchildren Kaitlyn (Divine) Calderon, Dameon Powers, Kayla Hogan,Robert J Hickerson, Imogen and Lydia Burroughs. Great grandchildren Mathew and Ivy. Sister Linda Slovarp, brothers Jim Oberg, Ken Oberg, David Oberg and Donald Oberg, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew Michael Oberg.
