William Michael “Mike” Erdman, 47, of Geneseo, IL, passed away peacefully at his home on May 13, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on June 23, 1976, at Illini Hospital in Silvis, IL, Mike was the cherished son of William “Bill” Erdman and Linda Redden.
Mike spent his formative years in the Geneseo area, where he built lifelong friendships and developed a strong work ethic. He was a proud Union Laborer and a member of Local 538 in Galesburg, IL. His career included work with companies such as Blackhawk Foundation and Civil. Renowned for his extensive knowledge and inspirational spirit, Mike was admired for his dedication and his ability to tackle any project, no matter how challenging. His commitment to excellence was evident in every task he undertook, and he took great pride in helping family and friends with their projects, always offering his brilliant mind and tireless effort.
In his personal life, Mike found joy in fishing, kayaking, and visiting the casino. These activities allowed him to appreciate nature and the excitement of the game. Mike will be remembered for his generosity, his sharp intellect, and his unwavering dedication to those he loved.
Mike’s legacy lives on through the many projects he completed and the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved dog, Lola; his mother, Linda (Roy) Redden; his siblings, Trisha (Mike) Fenster and Darrell W. (Sonya) Erdman; and his niece, Payton.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on June 23, 2024, from 12-5 PM at the Colona American Legion in Colona, Illinois. In accordance with Mike’s wishes, donations can be made to ohlstrong.org in his memory. Special thanks to the doctors and medical teams who supported Mike throughout his journey.
