William C. "Bill" Allison, 87, of Moline, IL died Sunday March 17, 2024 at Aspen Health and Rehab in Silvis.
Per his wished there will beno services. His cremains will be buried at the Rock Island National Cemetery.
Bill was born January 18, 1937 in Augusta, IL the son of Harold and Helen (Lambert) Allison. He married Frances Chenoweth April 10, 1965 in Macomb, IL. Bill graduated from Augusta High School in 1956. He lettered in basketball and pitched for the baseball team. After high school, he tried out for pitcher of the St. Louis Cardinals. He went on to serve in the Navy from 1957-1961. He served as a fire control technician on the USS Cowell DD547 Destroyer. Bill worked for case IH in East Moline retiring in 1992. After retirement, he went to work for Sears and Robuck in Moline and Davenport, retiring in 20012. He was an avid reader, golfer, fisherman, and hunter. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and collection arrowheads. He was also an avid Chicago CUBS fan.
Bill is survived by four children Denise Satterly of Cambridge, IL, Marta Sharp of Davenport, Bill (Laura) Allison of East Moline, and Darci DeWilde of Milan; grandchildren Nick Allison, Janae Allison, James Allison, Allison DeWilde, and Madison Gully, and a very special cousin Bill Lambert of Moline.
He is preceded in death by his wife and parents.
