Thomas A. Yeast

Thomas A. Yeast, 78, of Rock Island passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehab Center in Rock Island. 

He was born May 20, 1947 in McDonough County, Illinois the son of Marion G. Yeast and Ollie J. (Long) Yeast. He was a ROVA High School graduate in Oneida, IL. Tom joined the Army in 1967 and served 2 terms in Vietnam. He achieved several commendations, medals, and ribbons as a combat infantryman. After his discharge, he was a cook at Baylor University in Texas. He also worked at Denny's Restaurant. 

Surviving are brothers Marshal Yeast and Wendell (Mary) Yeast; sister Darlene Ferguson; 7 nieces; 6 nephews; several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving extended family Stacey Smiley and her son Chase. 

Tom was preceded in death by a sister Gerry (Floyd) Carlson; brother Mike (Mary) Yeast; nephew David Carlson; great nephew Josh Yeast; brother-in-law Jesse and sister-in-law Madylynn.
