Steven K Sears, 69, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, following a sudden cancer diagnosis.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at That Church, Clinton, IA from 4:00pm-7:00pm. There will be a Celebration of Life Service held, Monday, November 25, 2024 at That Church, Clinton, IA at 11:00am with a luncheon to follow.
Steven was born to Rejinah Jean Hartley and Larry Dale Sears on June 8, 1955, in Monticello, Illinois. Steven married Carol Driscoll on June 8, 1991. Anyone who had the chance to meet Steve knew he loved God, his wife Carol, children, grandchildren, and America. He had a passion to play his guitar. His guitar gave him an outlet to express himself starting at the age of nine. He went on to play in several bands throughout the years, but most known for being the lead guitarist for local band, Coupe De Ville for seven years. He used his passion to also play on several worship teams and even created his own Christian Recording Label, Cross Life Music. Steven retired from Mediacom Cable Company at the age of 62 and enjoyed spending the remainder of his life with his family.
Surviving is his wife, Carol Sears; children Stephanie Mason (Don), Kristina Fitch, Kiah Jackson (Courtney), Lindsay Jennings (Jeramy), Shannon Persinger (Jourdan); grandchildren Logan, Dylan, Trevor, Brynn, Nolan, Elizabeth, Kinnick, Ezekiel, Kaylee, Elijah, Ariana, Emmett, Rylen; siblings Marie (Rodney), Laurie, Brian, Danny (Rose), Cindy, Shawn (Anne); several nieces and nephews.
Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents Rejinah, Larry; sister Cerisa; and beloved son, Derek.
