Robert Dennis

Robert F. Dennis, 85, of Silvis passed away July 21, 2018 at his home.

Per his wishes cremation rites were accorded and there will be no services. Burial will be in Erie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family. Quad Cities Cremation Center is assisting the family with arrangements.

Robert was born in Erie to John and Edna Dennis of Oct. 13, 1932. He attended thte former Hillsdale High School. Robert served two years in the Army, stationed in Korea where he went ahead of his platoon disarming land mines.

Robert was joined in marriage to Viola Vroman on April 2, 1955 at the former Memorial Christian Church Chapel in Rock Island. He was employed at the former International Harvester in East Moline and then transferred to Navistar in Springfield, OH. He retired in 1986.

Survivors include his wife Viola; daughter Brenda Dahlstrom of Silvis; sons Robert of Silvis and Steven (Suzanne) of Colona; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters Pearl Belford of Hammond, IN, Sandra Bird of Alberton, MT and Shirley Rylander of Silvis.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother Johnny and sister Alberta.
