Richard J. Flynn, age 71, of Davenport, IA passed away peacefully on Nov. 22, 2019 at Clarissa C. Cook Genesis Hospice Center.
A celebration of life will be 2-4:30pm Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Filling Station in Davenport.
He was born May 12, 1948 to James Flynn and LeEtta Flynn (Thompson). Richard was able to live the last month happily with his daughter and her family before transferring to Clarissa C. Cook. Richard retired from Oscar Meyers and Van Meter.
Richard was a proud collector of antiques and Harley Davison collectibles. His favorite hobbies included annual trips to the Knoxville Nationals Racetrack in Knoxville, IA and Harley Davidson bike rides with his family and friends. He was a devoted and passionate father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his 2 children A.J. (Anthony Joseph) Flynn (wife Brea Flynn), Angie Flynn (husband Jeffery Boyer) and his 2 grandchildren who are dear to his heart, Ashley and Skylar. He was preceded in death by his brother Gary Flynn and surviving sisters Fonda Timmerman (husband Richard Timmerman) and Judy Franco with many nephews, nieces and cousins.
The family would like to thank all of Richard’s (Dick) friends for their support, friendship and love with many years of laughter, trips, good times and memories. They also give a sincere thank you to his dear friends Steven Duffy, Kevin Collins and Donald Wachal.
