Kitty Ivey passed away peacefully October 4, 2019, in her home.
Cremation rites have been conducted and arrangements are pending. Private graveside services will be conducted at a later date.
Kitty Lee Frasier was born Augustt 13, 1931 in Moline, to Mabel Claire (Summitt) and Melvin Frasier. She grew up in the Cottage Grove neighborhood of East Moline, and finished school at United Towhship High School. She married James Walter Ivey on January 20, 1951, in Arkansas, and became a mom and housewife. After raising her children, she became a housekeeper at Illini Hospital, retiring after 25 years.
Kitty is survived by her children Mabel (Weston) Wassell, Mel Ivey, and Cheryl (Kevin) Ishmael. Her grandchildren are Jayson (MinDee) Richard, Dusty (Neal) Boswell, Austin ( Amber) Ishmael, and Skyler (Stephanie) Ishmael, Annie ( Jason ) Pauley , Betsey Ivey, and Peter Wassell. Great-grandchildren, near and dear to her heart, are Aden, Delaney, Carson, Colton, Caitlyn, Dakota, Danae, Taijah, Tay Vin, Lily, Grayson, Shay, Amanda, Mariah, Makenna and Carter. She also loved her bonus kids, Chris Ivey and Mark Richard.
She was preceded in death by her son, Damon, and her sisters Patty Flowers and Dorothy Dokas.
The family sends a sincere Thank-you to the kind-hearted staff at Genesis Hospice, especially Jen, Kayla, Lisa and Betty.
Mom was a room mother, cookie baker, costume maker and holiday arranger extraordinaire. She was a fierce and loving mom, who always provided us with a home.
