Cassie Conley

Cassie E. Conley (Cass), 11/03/1971-07/28/2024, age 52, of Davenport, Iowa, formerly of Blue Grass, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Per Cassie’s wishes, she will be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Cassie graduated from high school in 1990 and then attended beauty school and attained her license in Cosmetology. She enjoyed working as a Cosmetologist but went on to other areas of employment to Include: Menards and Hobby Lobby. At one point Cassie worked at Menards and Hobby Lobby at the same time but eventually became dedicated to a full-time position as a Customer Service Manager at Hobby Lobby. Cassie was employed by Hobby Lobby for the past 13 years and developed a close bond with her Hobby Lobby work family. Cassie was dedicated to her role as a Customer Service Manager and was enthusiastic about delivering great customer service. Anyone who had the privilege of meeting Cassie immediately knew that she was hard working, kind, loving, and compassionate. Cassie had a smile and laugh that would light up a room, had a heart of gold and was a friend to all she encountered. In the months preceding Cassie’s passing she was surrounded by devoted, loving and supportive friends and co-workers who became her endearing family who all supported and cared for Cassie throughout her brave battle with lung cancer; she will be missed by many. 

Cassie enjoyed the company of her friends, laughing, long walks, listening to the birds sing and nature. Cassie loved the beach and water, and during her last visit to Florida she caught a shark while fishing and was overjoyed with her accomplishment.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Joseph Conley. 

A special thank you to the wonderful nursing staff at the Hospice House and the Home Hospice nurses who delivered wonderful, compassionate care to Cassie. A very special thank you to Lonnie and Margo Huskey who opened their hearts and home to Cassie while she was on Hospice care in their home, to Cheri and Mike who took Cassie to her appointments and made sure Cassie had everything that she needed, to Pastor David and Celina Medina who traveled near and far to pray for Cassie, to her special friend, Max and the wonderful memories he made with Cassie, and to Terry, Tammy, Nora, Colleen, Joyce, Kate, Ann, Susan, Penny, Kelly, Dawnell, Lynette and all who spent countless hours by Cassie’s side caring for her and encouraging her through her brave fight. You are all angels. God bless you all.
