Betty Casanova

February 12, 1931 — July 8, 2020

Betty A. Casanova, 89, of Geneseo passed away July 8, 2020 at Allure of Geneseo.

A memorial visitation and service will be held July 18, 2020 at Faith Baptist Church, Geneseo. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, QC Paws Animal Shelter, or to Melvin Casanova. Quad Cities Cremation Center is assisting the family with cremation.

Betty was born February 12, 1931 in Gladstone, MI the daughter of Olaf and Jennie Olson. She married Melvin Casanova in Norway, MI. Betty grew up in Gladstone and Norway, MI and graduated from Norway High School where she played the clarinet in the band, sang in the chorus and girls trio. Betty lived in Sterling, IL until 1976 and in the Chicago area for 20 years before spending the last 44 years in Geneseo. She worked as an ice cream maker and an administrative secretary and enjoyed arts and crafts. She was a member of the Womens Club, the chorus, the Bibleville Ministry Group and the Bible Fellowship Club at her church.

Survivors include her husband Melvin; sons Dale of Geneseo and Jeff (Trena) of East Moline; daughter Marcia (Jim) Boyer of Geneseo; grandchildren Michael (Christy), Angela (Austin), Katrina (Christopher), Auldon, Mark (Lea), and Amanda and great grandchildren Dylan, Logan, and Andy.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Olaf and Jeannie Olson; brothers Joe, Ernest, and George; sisters Alice and Dorothy and nieces Pat Keehn and Sharon Nelson.
